Meet a Deacon … virtually
How can we make this web site most engaging? We’ve been asking that question a lot, and one clear answer is that the site must open a virtual door to this special place: It must show the faces and tell the stories of the people here.
To that end we’ve launched a new feature, “Meet a Deacon,” to introduce outstanding students, undergraduate and graduate. What are they studying? What are their goals? Why did they choose Wake Forest?
The site is kicking off with profiles of graduating seniors. We’ll be adding student profiles throughout the year. We invite you to Meet a Deacon and send comments our way.

I think the “meet a deacon” page needs a lot of work. The page should tell us more about student’s accomplishments at wake and the world and how Wake has helped them with these accomplishments. Additionally, there need to be many more minorities.

I would like to see the professors also featured on “meet a deacon”, as well as graduate students. This would give more depth and also display Wake Forest as a cohesive undergraduate and graduate community. More detail on current research at the university, whether conducted by students or faculty, would also be helpful.

this website redesign is TERRIBLE. there is no logical flow and clearly no usability analysis was performed. as an alum, i didn’t access the old website that often, but every time i come to this one i get frustrated. really, what were you thinking.
